Actor Michael Shannon and Friends Celebrate the 40th Anniversary Of R.E.M.'s "Fables Of The Reconstruction" At The Vogue

Review and Photos By George Jesse

Michael Shannon, Jason Narducy, and comedian Dave Hill delivered performances that were nothing short of spectacular at The Vogue in Indianapolis on February 24th, 2025.

Hill's sharp wit, combined with his ability to shred and effortless charm had the audience in stitches from the moment he took the stage. As a former Cleveland-er, Hill’s regional observational humor and quirky anecdotes resonated with the crowd, setting the perfect tone for the evening.

Hill is not just a comedian; he's also an accomplished actor and musician. He's known for his roles in TV shows like "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," he also wrote the theme song for The John Oliver Show on HBO. Recently, Hill opened for Bill Murray and His Blood Brothers at SF Sketchfest, where he showcased his musical talents alongside the legendary actor.

Following Dave’s set, the stage was graced by headlining duo of actor Michael Shannon (Boardwalk Empire, The Shape of Water, Knives Out) and Jason Narducy, who, along with their R.E.M. tribute band, brought the house down. Shannon, known for his intense acting roles, showcased his musical prowess, while Narducy, a seasoned musician from bands like Bob Mould Band and Superchunk, provided stellar guitar work. The band, which included John Stirratt from Wilco on bass and John Wurster of Superchunk on drums, delivered a flawless rendition of R.E.M.'s "Fables of the Reconstruction" album. The band's performance was a nostalgic trip down memory lane for R.E.M. fans.

Remembering R.E.M., what a blast from the past! The Vogue surely felt alive with that tribute. The convergence of comedy and music sounds like a recipe for an unforgettable night. Celebrations honoring legacy albums always strike a chord. Once, I was tasked with organizing a local music festival. Balancing diverse acts, technical riders, and crowd expectations felt like a never-ending Friday Night Funkin battle. So many moving parts! It all worked out, but the stress was real.

Sounds like an unforgettable night at The Vogue! Dave Hill's comedy and musical talents set the stage perfectly for Michael Shannon and Jason Narducy’s incredible R.E.M. tribute. What a way to blend humor, music, and nostalgia into one epic evening! I found a good ai logo creator online. In a dimly lit rock venue pulsing with hardcore energy, an elite gaming team gathers at their favorite underground sound club. More than just champions in the arena, they’ve built a bold identity around a custom logo, designed with sleek geometric angles that demand attention. Their branding blends the raw edge of streaming culture with the chaos and rhythm of heavy music. Nearby, a unique wedding ceremony is unfolding—two souls united not just in love, but in their shared passion for gaming,…

Wow, sounds like an amazing night at The Vogue! Michael Shannon and friends honoring R.E.M. is fantastic. Dave Hill's humor must have been a blast. It reminds me of the thrill of mastering a tricky slope in Snow Rider - that feeling of effortless charm as you conquer the course. Wish I could have been there!
